Hey! So today I'm gonna rant about my day in the college. Basically I went to sleep at 3:00 am for which I rolled in my cot till 9:00, missing my first hour class. When I was rushing for my second hour class my phone vibrated. It was my dear stupid friend who also missed her first hour class and was waiting for me, so that we could go to class together. Unfortunately, the next two classes were not conducted as scheduled. We still held onto hope that we would have our fourth hour class, making it worthwhile to come to college for at least one hour of attendance. And thank almighty we had our class.
It was a Part II English class and our professor was handling the essay "Sermons in Cats" written by Aldous Huxley. The author explores the philosophical significance of cats...maybe spiritual too. He delves into the nature of cats, their behavior, and their relationship with humans, drawing parallels with religious and existential themes. He suggests that cats embody qualities such as independence, grace, and mystery, which can offer valuable insights into the human condition and our quest for meaning.
We listened to our professor's insightful talk (though he couldn't complete the essay) correlating to the essay that we didn't notice it's time for us to go for our next hour. I find it as an encouragement to embrace the mystery and complexity of life, appreciate the beauty found in independence and autonomy and recognize the value of observation in understanding ourselves and the world around us. I also came to know that there is wisdom to be gained from exploring the natural world and the behaviors of animals.
We have a mother cat and her five kittens with an additional guest, who is also a kitten, in my hall. I see them every day from the first day the kittens were birthed. But still I never sat and observed their behavior and activities. Today I found that Ginger, a kitten with golden brown body, passed away when I was home. I still remember how small and fragile it was after its birth.I regretted why I didn't notice its absence.
So, from today I'm gonna observe them attend them and learn from them something before I leave my hall. Hope you guys also learn something from the nature. Bye!
